What if Ageno Foundation Did Not Come to Uganda
If you do not see before you see, then you will not see. God often does a work inside us before He does                             something                             outside us. ~ Julius Peter Oyet
The lives of many families and individuals would have ended in jeopardy without the coming two                            ordinary Medical                             Practitioners, in the personalities of Dr. Jamel amd Dr. Dale from New York. God had done a work already inside them and He chose to bring a malnourished 4-year-old girl named Ageno. The meeting and rescuing of this starved girl led not only to the forming of Ageno Foundation Inc, but so many initiatives.
The Ageno Foundation International Inc. has made and continues to make enormous positive contributions to thousands of Ugandans in the areas of Monthly Food supplements to expectant and breastfeeding mothers and children under five. Distribution of over 60,000 Mosquito Nets throughout Uganda from 2009 to date. Ageno Foundation International Inc. (AFSI) has fed over 45,000 people throughout Uganda. Through Ageno Foundation, we received Eliajh Milliard Education Programme (EMEP) now sending over 40 kids to schools with life transforming testimonies.
By taking steps to come to Uganda and take a leaf of faith, Ageno Foundation has fulfilled my saying that:
“Do not ask God to guide your footsteps, if you are not willing to move your feet.” ~ Julius Peter Oyet
Here are the summarized overall reports on different Ageno Programs in Uganda:
Mosquito Nets: The number of Mosquito Nets given out since 2009 to 2016 are 60,000 throughout Uganda to over 105 Families.
Malaria Prevention: Malaria still remains the number one killer in Uganda and therefore anyone who helps us to fight it is doing a commendable job. The Government of Uganda has now embarked on free mosquito nets distribution throughout the country to help the population.
Feeding Program: The number of people (women and children) that have been on the feeding program since 2010 are over 45,000 people both children and women but from 2016 we have launched the feeding program to go throughout Uganda instead of concentrating in Kampala. We have discovered that up country needs more attention as more than Seven Million Ugandans are expected to die from famine in 2017 alone!
Reduction in Malnutrition Cases: The number of cases of malnutrition from 2011 to 2016 in the Clinic since the feeding program started) We normally get 5 out of 100 children new cases who have not received nutrition before.
Elijah Milliard Education Program (EMEP): Sending over 40 vulnerable kids to schools with great testimonies of excellence in Academic Achievement, Talent developments and Sports.
Biosand Water Filters: Serving over 20 families in Otumpili Village, Lukole Sub County, Agago District, Northern Uganda with clean healthy water that they have never had their whole lives!
Truly Ageno Foundation has demonstrated that: There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them. – Julius Peter Oyet
Famine In Uganda
In eastern and northern Uganda families are eating termites, wild leafs and roots of trees to survive the famine!
The famine situation in Uganda is life threatening especially in Eastern and Northern Uganda, families have a meal once a day or none at all, gardens are dried up, the army worms on the other hand are at work and have destroyed thousands of gardens, food stuffs, are way too expensive ,Katakwi, moroto ,life there is heart breaking, Residents in some parts of Teso, Acholi and Lango including school children and elderly women and men, have been captured in television footages harvesting termites from ant-hills, hunting down edible rats and picking wild leaves in desperate efforts to fix a meal amid biting hunger.
Termites For Lunch!
Life Line Ministries will be available over the next three weeks to receive food and cash donations from Good Samaritans. “Whatever little you have, we shall receive to save lives of the people in need. Hunger in Teso is not about to end tomorrow because after this drought, we expect floods but are our people prepared?” We will work with the government to identify areas in critical need and sensitise the affected people on how to avert hunger in future.
There are something deeply wrong, so sincerely wrong when the citizens doesn’t get needed food relief and have to eat termites, wild leafs, roots and insects to survive. This is the state of the famine now in Teso Region, in Katakwi, Amuria, Bukedea and Kaberamaido district.
Starving Children looking to God for the next meal!
“Mr Robert Okitoi, the Amuria District council chairperson, said “The situation is bad, people are now eating termites. I think the government should just declare a state of emergency for the regions of Teso, Karamoja and Lango.” (NTV Uganda, 01.06.2017). On the 26th April 2017 the Parliament has passed a motion to declare ‘State of Emergency’ in Uganda, but the President and the State House has not done anything about it.
Dear Ageno Partners, Partners, thank you for your continued support which has brought Ageno Foundation International Inc. this far. Our cry to God is that “ He who has started a good work in us should be able to complete it…” so that we take kids to school to the Gory of God
God bless you Ageno, EMEP, Partners and Donors never forget;
